Review of Soo Line 1003 A Steamin First Season DVD

The Soo Line 1003 is a 2-8-2 Mikato type steam engine that was donated by the Soo Line Railroad to the city of Superior, Wisconsin in 1959. Rebuilt in 1996 by the Wisconsin Railway Preservation Trust, the 1003 was once again under steam and ready to roll. This video features all of the exciting action of its inaugural season including: Fall break-in runs on the North Shore Scenic Railroad, Duluth to Two Harbors tourist train on the NSSR, Shuttle trip across Wisconsin over former Soo Line trackage - includes some freight scenes with a caboose, Osceola to New Richmond passenger trip over the St. Croix River high bridge, The 1003 doubleheading with the Northern Pacific #328 on the WC's Dresser line, Soo Line Historical Society Convention train out of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, Plus a few Soo, UP, DM&IR, and WC freight trains.
