Located in the quiet Amish farmlands of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania are two fine examples of our American railroad heritage, the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania and the Strasburg Railroad.In this video we'll visit the museum, and we'll tell you a little about its history and development. Then we'll go across the street to the Strasburg Railroad, the oldest operating shortline railroad in the United States today. In the cab and trackside, you'll see locomotives 31, 90, and 7002 pulling train loads of passengers through the scenic Lancaster countryside.Then comes the highlight of the show, as the 7002 and the 1223 are on the point of a special steam doubleheader! You'll see these two ex-Pennsylvania locomotives running on home rails from Strasburg to Harrisburg and back. The locomotives cross the massive Rockville Viaduct, and then race back to Strasburg on the former Pennsylvania Railroad main line.After watching this video, we're sure you'll agree that in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, "Steam Still Stands".
