The EMD GP38-2 was one of EMD’s most popular 4 axle locomotives built between 1972 and 1986. With over twenty-two hundred made, these 2,000 horsepower locomotives were, and still are used by many railroads across the world due to their versatility and traction performance. In our multi-volume series, we captured these non-turbo charged work horses on class one’s and short lines across the country. In Volume 1, C. Vision Productions documents the GP38-2s from the Canadian Pacific and the Kansas City Southern. Also included in this show are predecessor GP38AC’s on the Canadian Pacific, built in 1970 and 1971 .

The non-turbocharged EMD 16-645E prime mover gave a sound that is loved by many rail enthusiasts across the world. We get several trains as they are climbing grades providing our microphones and your ears their unique sounds.

You won’t want to miss this one as these classic locomotives are getting less in numbers. Enjoy Volume 1 of EMD GP38-2s from C. Vision Productions!
