Wisely, Peter Cook lets the engines do most of the talking. Narration is minimal. I marvel at the fact that a locomotive built in 1895 has not only survived, but has been returned to service. This is a tribute to Baldwin and its' quality product, as well as to all those who worked so long and hard to return the 315 to operating condition. Having two locomotives from different eras in this production, clearly shows the advance of size and technology between the two. Clearly, both locomotives come from a time when things were built to last, before our throw away society. This release has all the variety and quality we have come to expect from Highball Productions.
Additional comments:
Narration: Could have used more.
Would kids enjoy this? Maybe.
Image quality: Excellent!
Value: Seemed a little high.
Recommend? Only if really interested.

In the fall of 2013, the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad operated a series of Freight Specials with not only 2-8-0 number 315 Built in 1895 as number 425 (referenced to a Gulf Mobile & Northern 4-6-2 on Pennsylvania's Reading & Northern), but also K-27 Class 2-8-2 number 463 Built in 1903 as well as the K-36 Class Locomotives Built by Baldwin in 1925: 484, 487, 488, & 489. Day 1 of the Freight Special Covered the Double-Header, Mid-Train helper service, & solo runs with 315 & 463 that has 3 cabooses behind the cars with a cameo from Rio Grande Southern Galloping Goose Motorcar number 5 at Chama, a Go-Pro Cab Ride with a Go-Pro Camera from under the second tank car behind 463. Day 2 captures both engines at the Halfway Point of Osier as Dawn Rises, then there are caboose rides behind 463, as well as a busy meet & hear from the horn from Goose 5, not to mention 463 pushing in the middle once again, as well as Go-Pro cab rides on 463 from both the top of the driver's side & underneath the fireman's side while pushing 315's cattle cars. Day 3 finds 315 & 463 getting preparations in the morning at Antonito with 488 & 489 before going back west to Chama. More cab rides on the 2-8-0 from the 2013 special was released on the Un-Narrated "315 Cab Ride". In the Closing Credits, Jim Parfrey of Steam Train Videos provided the extra footage, while the go-pro angles were filmed by Jon Kling.
